Rutherford Cross is working in partnership with HEINEKEN UK to identify and engage a high calibre Senior Credit Controller to undertake a key role within its newly created Credit Risk team for Star Pubs & Bars. Working for one of the world's most instantly recognisable brands, in this role you'll be responsible for managing the day to day operations and decisions relating a portfolio of high risk customers and ex tenant debt.

Reporting to the Credit Risk Manager, the Senior Credit Risk Controller is responsible for managing the day to day operations and decisions relating to a portfolio of low to medium risk customers. This role supports a varying number of RODs and BDMs in order to achieve agreed performance objectives, KPI's and service levels (financial and customer experience related including ongoing customer experience scorecard results relating to Star Pubs and Bars).

Key responsibilities

  • On Time in Full delivery of team objectives for Star Pubs & Bars Credit Risk team
  • Effective management of the risk profile in line with KPI's of a low to medium risk accounts receivable ledger of circa £2m
  • Credit approval limits of up to £15,000
  • Delivery of successful remedial customer action plans for your assigned portfolio of low and medium risk debt in a timely manner achieving agreed performance objectives (including maximising cash collection & minimising bad debts), KPI's and service levels (financial and customer experience related including ongoing customer experience scorecard results relating to Star Pubs and Bars)
  • Proactive response to exception and compliance reporting ensuring there is clear understanding of accountability to deliver targets
  • Ensure compliance with the policy and process framework
  • Conduct, action oriented, monthly business area reviews with Star Pubs and Bars Business Development Managers, carrying out all assigned actions in a timely and diligent manner, including execute all HeiCash collection strategies are executed OTIF
  • Support Credit Risk Manager to successfully implement Heineken Star Pubs and Bars credit risk training accreditation plan including mentoring and supporting SPB Credit Risk Controllers in team
  • Deputise and provide cover for Credit Risk Manager as an when required
  • Lead successful resolution of customer disputes and queries referred by the OTC team in HGSS

Candidate requirements

  • CICM qualified/part qualified
  • Experience at a senior credit controller/collector level preferably in a licensed and tenanted estate or large FMCG environment
  • Excellent technical and commercial acumen
  • Strong and current understanding of company credit risk policies
  • Proven track record of delivery of objectives and KPI's
  • Ability to understand and interpret business needs
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to achieve a win/win
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to handle difficult and challenging conversations in a professional and positive manner
  • Evidence of business partnering to medium management level stakeholders
  • Strong appetite for continuous improvement with ability to evidence ownership and delivery of improvement initiatives

What's on Offer

The position offers an attractive basic salary of £30,000 - £37,000 + generous benefits package including bonus, flexible working hours, private medical cover, 35 days annual holiday, double matched pension (5:10) and monthly product allowance.
