Description

Rutherford Cross has been exclusively engaged by Scottish Golf in St. Andrews who have a large and active involvement in the sport of Golf in Scotland. Representing 587 affiliated golf clubs across the country and with a total membership of over 200,000 golf club members, this newly created role of Head of Finance & IT will be an exciting opportunity for many.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Services Director, the key areas of this role will be to; provide sound advice and decision support via robust financial and budget management information, develop and maintain systems and procedures, strengthen financial governance and contribute to the overall achievement of the organisations strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a monthly management account pack, including forecasting and analysis
  • Monitoring of set KPI’s across the organisation
  • Oversee all financial activities of the company, including implementation of budgets
  • Ownership of membership subscription cycle
  • Oversight for the annual audit and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Preparation of the Annual Financial Report
  • Completion of quarterly VAT return and annual adjustment to comply with HMRC regulations
  • Responsible for monthly payroll processes and associated staff benefits
  • Ownership of the IT strategy, ensuring that the day to day needs of the operational aspect of the business are met
  • Supporting the Corporate Services Director to facilitate all aspects of procurement, IT and Health & Safety
  • Ensure robust financial governance processes and systems to include internal and external audit plans

Candidate requirements :

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Excellent business partnering skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong track record of developing systems and processes within a finance team
  • Good working knowledge of finance systems, in particular SAGE 200
  • Highly organised, with a strong focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially use of Excel and Access

Remuneration:

£45,000- £55,000 + car allowance and additional benefits.
