Description

The FP&A Analyst will be pivotal in providing support to the Commercial teams, with emphasis on our B2B channels, to help deliver the overall vision of the company. The focus of the role will be:

  • Providing segmented sales and margin reporting of actuals and orderbook vs targets on a historic and forward looking basis.
  • Providing product information at SKU level by customer to facilitate sales visits by reps.
  • Highlighting and investigating sales at below target margin.
  • Providing gap analysis on a YoY and seasonal basis to ensure that customers are meeting Hunter Boot’s requirements in their buys.
  • Feed information into the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring that sales gaps are clearly quantified.
  • Providing information on the different sales order types to ensure that customers are meeting replenishment targets.
  • Supporting the Group Inventory Planning Controller in providing relevant data for the MSSI (Monthly Sales, Stock & Input report) and the monthly buys.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

Sales & Margin reporting

  • Develop and implement weekly and monthly sales & orderbook reporting by channel by sales rep against targets, highlighting variances and risk areas
  • Provide segmented invoiced and orderbook information at SKU level by customer for each sales person on weekly basis
  • Highlight any gaps in orderbook when compared to customers of similar type and/or compared to prior same season’s buy or to targets
  • Highlight and investigate any sales with margins less than target
  • Ensure that customers are adhering to guided assortment rules with their buys

Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Be responsible for providing sufficient information at customer, category and collection level to sales team to facilitate sales forecasting by territory
  • Highlight any differences between orderbook and forecasts, ensuring that sales gaps are clearly quantified
  • Calculate trade discounts by customer and ensure that these are accurately stated in the plans
  • Ensure that sales forecasting plans are aligned with information in the MSSI so that planned buys are not materially different from latest view plans

Relationship building

  • Build sustainable relationships with UK Wholesale and Merchandising teams by:
    • creating self-serve system reports on historic and future sales and orders
    • highlighting any margin or sales gaps, with recommendations for minimising risk
  • Support teams with scenario modelling for price/product initiatives; ensure that Commercial, Marketing and Supply chain objectives are aligned. 

The Person

The ideal person for this role has the ability to present information to stakeholders and functions in meaningful ways to enable decision-making. They will enjoy the challenge of presenting data in a variety of outputs relevant to the end user. It is essential that they have the skills to persuade, influence and build relationships at all levels, and to flourish in a fast paced, flexible environment. Advanced Microsoft Office skills are also required as is experience of working with BI and performance management reporting tools.
