Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a well-established organisation, based in Edinburgh, seeking to recruit a newly qualified or exam finalist accountant to join them as a Finance Business Partner.  This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the financial decision making process in an organisation which is eager to deliver change in many of its key functions. The position will give the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and as such requires an individual who will be adept at building positive and effective working relationships.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Supporting and challenging budget holders, developing a means of monitoring expenditure against budgets and forecasts
  • Developing financial strategies to ensure operational plans are in line with financial resources
  • Working closely with the Finance Director to introduce a costing tool, to assess the delivery of services and products at lower cost
  • Taking ownership of the month end management accounting process, producing in-depth variance analysis to measure performance against forecast
  • Playing a pro-active role in process improvement
  • Delivering guidance and training to non-finance colleagues to ensure their understanding of processes and procedures

Successful Candidates will possess:

  • The ability to liaise confidently with senior stakeholders across a large organisation
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to assist in the creation of financial models
  • A willingness to play a key role in the development of new processes and procedures
  • Play an active part in meetings with the organisation’s senior management team
  • CA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications, or at final stages
