Rutherford Cross is working in partnership with HEINEKEN UK to identify and engage a high calibre Senior Credit Risk Manager to undertake a key role within its newly created Credit Risk team for Star Pubs & Bars. Working for one of the world's most instantly recognisable brands, in this role you will be responsible for leading and driving the Star Pubs & Bars Credit Control team.
The Senior Credit Risk Manager is responsible for creating policies and procedures for this new function, developing and executing strategy and leading/managing a large Credit team based in Edinburgh.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, and working closely with the wider leadership team, this role represents a fantastic opportunity to create both a new business function, and to play a vital role in the company's journey. The ability to engage and influence at senior level is essential, as is possessing the commerciality to make key lending decisions within a fast paced and ever evolving working environment.
Key responsibilities
- Building and leading a high performing credit management team, up to 30 FTE
- Working closely with the leadership team to shape credit policy and drive the strategy
- Manage the team to minimise bad debts and maximise cash flow through credit control collection
- Set objectives, KPI's and service levels in order to deliver the operational plan
- Oversee the successful implementation of staff training and accreditation plan
- Implementation and management of processes and controls to ensure effective corporate governance is in place and adhered to
- In-depth performance analysis to create commercial opportunities and make informed credit decisions
- Producing insightful financial reports that can inform decision making
- Develop an environment of continuous improvement of procedures and processes
- Lead on projects and be an SME on larger strategic projects
- Effectively manage the risk profile in line with Accounts Receivable KPI's
Candidate requirements
- Extensive experience at a management level with accountability for team objectives with a track record of high achievement and outstanding performance
- Experience of credit risk management, turnaround, credit control or lending to SME
- Experience at successfully managing change and implementing continuous process improvement to ways of working
- Previous experience of creating policies and procedures
- Strong business partnering experience
- A track record of successful strategic decision making
The position offers an attractive basic salary of £60,000 - £70,000 + generous benefits package including bonus, flexible working hours, private medical cover, 35 days annual holiday, double matched pension (5:10) and monthly product allowance.
