The Opportunity

The company is now looking to recruit a Commercial Finance Analyst to provide financial insight as the company embarks on this next period of business growth. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic finance professional to make a difference in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the post holder will be a key member of the finance team and a trusted business partner to the Operating Board and various stakeholders. The role holder will provide financial insight to support and challenge across all areas of the business and will add value through performing in-depth analysis of performance drivers. The company plans to open new clinics and hospitals over the next few years and the Commercial Financial Analyst will provide robust financials for business cases and play a critical role in supporting these growth opportunities.

Preferred Candidate Background

The Commercial Finance Analyst will be a professionally qualified accountant with proven technical skills and strong commercial aptitude. The successful candidate will not only can produce excellent financial analysis and modelling but will have the commercial flair to delve underneath the numbers and understand the true drivers of performance. The candidate will be required to influence stakeholders at all levels and will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present financial information that is succinct, meaningful and relevant.

A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:

  • A qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Previous finance experience in a commercial environment is essential
  • Experience of developing and using financial models
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong IT literacy
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and translate and simplify financial information for key stakeholders
  • Commercial astuteness
  • Ability to work with pace whilst not compromising accuracy
  • Organised approach to work with ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter, tenacious and inquisitive – uses initiative to identify opportunities and solve problems
  • Enthusiastic outlook and determination to succeed
  • Flexible and collaborative approach

 

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Building financial business models to support proposed new business ventures, including scenario planning and sensitivity analysis
  • Providing financial support to business projects
  • Producing insightful analysis that drives business decisions and informs senior management of true drivers of performance
  • Preparing management information for Board reporting including Balanced Scorecard and KPIs
  • Producing in-depth monthly reporting and commentary of staffing costs across clinics and hospitals including volume (hours) and rate variance analysis
  • Developing and managing rolling financial forecasting process including 5-year plan
  • Supporting pricing strategy through analysis and scenario modelling
  • Participating in annual budgeting process and producing budget packs and presentations
  • Partnering with business stakeholders to provide support and help improve financial awareness and accountability
  • Performing ad hoc financial analysis relevant to ongoing business priorities

Renumeration

Salary:                             £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
