Rutherford Cross is working in partnership with HEINEKEN UK to identify and engage a high calibre Credit Risk Manager to undertake a key role within its newly created Credit Risk team for Star Pubs & Bars. Working for one of the world's most instantly recognisable brands, in this role you will be responsible for ensuring robust governance and control of all higher risk AR balances and performance against Revenue and Cost management objectives

The Intensive Care Risk Manager, is responsible for managing the day to day operations and decisions relating to higher risk customer/ex tenant portfolio through a team of Intensive Care Risk Controllers

Reporting to the Senior Credit Risk Manager, this role business partners SPB RODs providing first class performance management and insight to ensure the robust execution of credit policy and strategy

Key responsibilities

  • On Time in Full delivery of team objectives/KPI's & SLAs for Star Pubs & Bars Intensive Care Risk team
  • Management and development of a team of 6 staff
  • Credit approval limits of up to £0.05m
  • Effective management of the risk profile in line with KPI's of a high risk accounts receivable ledger of circa £10m and a loan book circa £4m
  • Through effective management of the team, minimise bad debts and maximise cash flow through intensive care case management of higher risk proposals
  • Delivery of successful remedial customer action plans through the Intensive Care team in a timely manner achieving agreed performance objectives, KPI's and service levels (financial and customer experience related including ongoing customer experience scorecard results relating to Star Pubs and Bars)
  • Progressive management and development of intensive care team of 5 minimising staff attrition and overseeing their successful completion of Heineken Star Pubs and Bars staff training and accreditation plan
  • Lead and promote best in class reporting and insight (root cause and action oriented mind-set) ensuring there is clear accountability to deliver targets and transparency/understanding of performance within year to date and for full year outturn to deliver targets
  • Ensure compliance with the policy and process framework within the intensive care team and robust exception/compliance reporting
  • Promotes a culture within teams of continuous improvement of procedures and processes from a Control of Net assets, revenue and cost management perspective using external insight when available
  • Proactively work within your team to (i) analyse and exploit commercial business opportunities to promote profit growth; and (ii) ensure processes comply with HEINEKEN Global framework and HEINEKEN Behaviours.
  • Lead projects with an impact on the operational plan or act as an SME in larger strategic and operational projects

Candidate requirements

  • Experience at a management level with accountability for team objectives with a track record of high achievement and outstanding performance
  • Experience of credit risk management, turnaround, credit control or lending to SME
  • Experience at successfully managing change and implementing continuous process improvement to ways of working
  • Strong business partnering experience

What's on Offer

The position offers an attractive basic salary of £40,000 - £50,000 + generous benefits package including bonus, flexible working hours, private medical cover, 35 days annual holiday, double matched pension (5:10) and monthly product allowance.
