Description

Rutherford Cross is excited to be working in partnership with a successful Renfrewshire based manufacturing business to appoint a Senior Management Accountant.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant with prior industry experience to join an ambitious business working in a fast-paced environment.  The post-holder will assist the Group Financial Controller in the day to day support of finance functions across several group entities.

Key tasks will include:

  • Management of monthly management accounts reporting packs for several group entities, inclusive of provision of quality in-depth insight and analysis
  • Management of the financial transaction processing, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely and efficiently across several group entities, with focus on key areas such as revenue (including order to cash reconciliation and deferred revenue) and cost accounting (standard costing, overhead recovery, variance analysis, inventory valuations, physical inventories and cycle counts)
  • Monitoring of performance across several group entities on a monthly basis, ensuring appropriate corrective action is being taken in a timely manner
  • Review and sign-off of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Management of the monthly and annual ledger close process across several group entities
  • Responsibility for statutory financial statements, ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements
  • Key contact for external advisors for several key areas including, audit, tax compliance, R&D tax claims etc.
  • Cash management and working capital analysis and review across several group entities
  • Review and challenge of budget proposals and controlling of actual costs against budget
  • Responsibility for ensuring compliance and providing support on global policies, procedures, guidance documents and internal controls for several group entities
  • Be the key driver in proposing, effecting and supporting process improvements locally
  • Responsibility for local and overseas compliance work including review of ancillary returns (VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List), tax compliance and company secretarial work
  • Providing financial support to the different departments within the company, including providing financial advice and support in terms of budgeting, potential cost savings, day to day spend requirements, periodic performance against forecast and ad hoc advice

On offer:

  • Salary circa £45,000-£48,000
  • Holidays 27+4 fixed with option to buy 5 more
  • Company pension employer cont 4%
  • Hours 8:30-4:30
