Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a growing and highly acquisitive business based in Glasgow who are adding to their already well established finance team with a Senior Commercial Analyst. While this role will start off on an interim basis there is an opportunity for it to progress to permanent for the right candidate. This is a highly commercial, varied and fast paced role offering candidates the opportunity to be involved in a business in a particularly key time for them where there will be a number of exciting challenges and projects to work on. A summary of some of the key duties will include:

• Reviewing monthly financial accounting data in relation to revenue and gross margin for the Group including support in calculating and processing accruals and journals as required
• Review of monthly operational metrics, including verification and explanation of variances and providing supporting commentary for commercial decision making
• Preparing analysis for use for due diligence projects
• Preparing daily, weekly, monthly reporting and KPI packs
• Working on development of current reporting suits and any improvements
• Evaluating the data being generated across the business, ensuring fit for purpose and highlighting any areas for improvement
• Preparing budget inputs specifically around revenue and gross margin
• Post-acquisition carrying out work on integrations

As mentioned this role will be vast ranging and above is a snapshot of some of the key duties. The business are looking for a highly motivated, commercial candidate who enjoys being challenged. The role requires a fully qualified candidate who is very strong in Excel with experience in building complex financial models. Experience in managing high volume data and interpreting key trends is very important as well as being able to confidently communicate across the business. This role will ideally start asap.
