Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing life and pensions organisation based in Edinburgh. A newly created IT Audit Manager position which is part of the wider Group Internal Audit function which has been given the mandate to increase head count given the recognition of the work completed by the audit team across the business.

Reporting to the Head of IT Audit, you will be the risk and control SME and will provide insight and challenge to leaders across the business. You will deliver an independent IT assurance plan and will focus on the embedding of the group’s risk management framework. Your time will be spent looking at audit delivery, stakeholder engagement and developing the audit function (this could include looking at data analytics, improvement projects or developing the audit methodology).

To be considered for this position you will have a strong technology controls background as well as a good understanding of audit methodology, either gained working within Internal or External Audit as you will be the SME for technology within audit. Preferably you will be either CA/ACCA/ACA/IIA/CIA/CISA/CISM qualified.

Whilst there is not a preference to industry background, it would be advantageous to have worked within financial services or a large corporate within a highly regulated industry as you will appreciate the importance and rigour of regulation. It would also be desirable to have previously worked with the following software programmes: Unix, Mainframe, Oracle or SQL.  You will also have a track record influencing senior management and will provide adequate challenge to strategic programmes.
