Description

Exciting opportunity for an Investment Financial Analyst to join a growing renewables challenger in Edinburgh. The Investment Financial Analyst role forms a key part of the Asset Development and Investment Management team working closely with the Investment Managers and reporting to the Head of Investments. The individual will support all aspects of the company’s M&A and financing strategy for existing and new projects as well as internal departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being part of and supporting a team that executes project financing and M&A opportunities
  • Building and developing financial models in support of financing and M&A opportunities
  • Assess and analyse M&A opportunities under guidance of the Investment Manager
  • Assist the writing of investment papers to support M&A opportunities
  • Provide commercial/financial support to other parts of the business
  • Support the provision of reports and analysis for the headquarters in Beijing and other group companies as necessary
  • Attend development opportunities and workshops
  • Help to coordinate work with external advisers
  • Support and help project manage the due diligence process for transactions

In order to be considered for the role you will need to have the following:

  • Strong financial modelling experience with emphasis on metrics such as IRR, NPV and DCF valuations. Additionally, it is preferable you have a high level of financial modelling ideally in project finance and particularly renewables or other infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong relationship builder with the ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience of transaction execution and due diligence
  • Understanding of project finance and M&A transactions
  • Solid understanding of the renewable energy market
  • Degree qualified with relevant professional qualification i.e. CFA, CA or similar
