Description

Rutherford Cross are delighted to be partnered with an Edinburgh based charity to recruit for an Income Analyst. This role is focused on accurate reporting of income and processing of income documentation while assisting with financial and management processes. This role is perfect for a candidate who has a keen eye for details as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Recording, processing, and analysing income transactions

  • Reconciling the businesses receipts within an income system and resolving any discrepancies
  • Analysing receipts and recording them within the relevant cashbooks
  • Liaising with other departments, such as fundraising, to ensure that income recorded is complete and recorded correctly
  • Reconcile cashbooks on a monthly basis between the bank and the company
  • Prepare monthly Gift Aid claims and supporting documents

Providing support to Fundraising

  • Providing information and support to Fundraising as well as occasionally to other departments
  • Responsible for queries on Gift Aid from Fundraising and making sure the appropriate claims are made

Assisting with the production of routine finance information.

  • Preparing monthly draft bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with the monthly management accounts
  • Recording and reconcile petty cash transactions on a monthly basis
  • Providing cover and assistance when needed with processing and payments of invoices for the Purchase Ledger team

Other Duties

  • Ensuring that organisational standards are always maintained
  • Assisting with ad hoc Finance and Administration projects as required
  • Having an active role within Finance and Administration, contributing to the planning, implementation and delivery of aims and objectives

The Candidate

  • Can confidently work independently within defined procedures to record and reconcile income transactions and to process documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Comfortable working on complex monthly income reconciliations
  • Taking initiative and having strong judgement in prioritising
  • Detail oriented and ensuring numerical accuracy
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Strong Excel experience
  • Desirable would be a knowledge of VAT

On offer is an opportunity to work with a Scottish charity and have exposure to many areas of finance. Initially the role will be fully remote with the potential of moving to hybrid working at some point next year.
