Rutherford Cross is delighted to bring to market a truly unique Finance Manager opportunity with Torishima Service Solutions based in Dubai.

Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co. Ltd was established in 1919 in Osaka Japan. Torishima Pump Manufacturing has 4 key business units, these being High-Tech Pumps, Projects, Service Solutions and Renewable Energy and Environment.

The Service Solutions arm of the business has bases in Japan, Europe, Asia, USA and throughout the Middle East. Torishima Service Solutions has established a reputation as a highly skilled Engineering Service Solutions provider capable of supporting the demanding requirements of Pump, Rotating Machinery and Oil Field Equipment Service throughout the world.

The Service Solutions business is out to market for an ambitious Finance Manager to be based in Dubai to assist with the day to day running of the Finance function for the Middle East region. The Middle East region accounts for over $40m turnover with a joint venture in Saudi Arabia accounting for $3m of this. The business in the Middle East has grown substantially over the last few years with headcount rising from 40 to 144. The Middle East’s market is predominantly the servicing of Power Stations which accounts for nearly 90% of its work.

Responsible To: Middle East Managing Director/Finance Director
Location: Dubai

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the following key deliverables:

External Reporting
• Form opinion and evaluate impact of technical matters/disclosure and recommend appropriate policies to senior management/audit committee
• Planning, overseeing and reviewing the preparation of the annual consolidated accounts and preparation for the external audit
• Planning, overseeing and reviewing the preparation of monthly consolidated accounts and reports to the Board of Directors

Risk and Control
• Ensure a robust financial control environment
• Design internal controls to mitigate financial risk and ensure they are fit for purpose and operate as in intended
• Maintain all records, registers and books of accounts
• Ensure all filing requirements are met
• Ensure a fully functioning daily, weekly and monthly cash forecasting system
• Work with financial institutions (banks and suppliers) to assist with cash flow
• Strong with Foreign Currency Management
Own Projects and Strategic Initiatives
• Provide technical leadership and direction to the businesses, partnering with the senior management team on an ongoing basis

People
• Continue to develop the team of 6, ensuring clear lines of responsibility
• Actively manage personal development for self and team
• Manage team to meet business objectives

 

A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:

• Proven track record in leading and motivating teams within and across functions
• Experience of developing outstanding relationships across the businesses
• A background in organisations or environments with a high degree of growth
• Experience in presenting at senior management level
• A proven relationship builder with the ability to increase co-operation across departments and sites
• Manufacturing experience would be beneficial but not essential

• Degree qualified with a strong academic track record
• Professionally qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA) with PQE consummate with a role at this level of responsibility

• Knowledgeable on current accounting standards and any proposed changes that are applicable to the business
• Ability to prioritise and adapt to workload
• Strong analytical, organisational and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with an ability to influence key members of senior management
• Ability to assess and drive business improvement projects
• Excellent IT skills, with a proven track record in optimising finance systems

 

On offer is a highly competitive base salary of 250,000- 350,000 AED (£ circa £50,000- £70,000 equivalent)  plus free housing, free schooling for 2 children, up to 10% bonus, 30 days holiday and 2 free return flights home annually
