An exciting opportunity for a qualified Accountant to join a growing, medium sized business as a Finance Manager. This position is based in Edinburgh and would ideally suit a first mover from the profession who has experience preparing statutory and management accounts for a variety of clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of management accounts together with variance analysis against budget and underlying financial model.
• Preparation of annual budgets for the group.
• Periodic updates of project financial models and the running of sensitivities on these models.
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts with consolidated accounts for the group.
• Coordinating the annual audit with the external auditors.
• Liaising with tax advisors on corporation tax compliance and VAT.
• Preparing corporation tax computations for review by external advisors.
• Preparation of technical accounting papers on key accounting issues and judgments’.
• Attending shareholders meeting acting as project or group accountant where required.
• Ensuring the projects tax affairs are managed efficiently with reference to the tax asset/liability of the wider group.

You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to project work on an ad hoc basis.

In order to be considered for the position you will be:

• A qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Are likely to have trained within the profession and will ideally have had experience preparing statutory and/or management accounts
• Proactive and focused on development
• Collaborative and enjoy problem solving
