Description

Winchburgh Village is a £multi-million development encircling the historic village of Winchburgh seven miles from Edinburgh Airport. The 347-hectare masterplan, incorporating the existing village, is designed with the environment, safety and security all in mind, ultimately as the destination of choice for house buyers.

Winburgh Village has multiple areas for play and leisure, walkways, cycle paths and areas of outstanding beauty such as the Glendevon Pond and Tippet Knowes, Winchburgh Village will preserve the area’s heritage whilst building for the future and putting the environment first. As the development grows so too will multiple amenities and a stunning new Town Centre with additional shops, facilities and places to meet and play.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Winchburgh Developments Limited and the Head of Financial Reporting at CALA, the appointed candidate will be given full autonomy in the financial stewardship of this £multi-million development. In relation to any financial processing, the Finance Manager will utilise CALA’s internal finance team, ensuring their time is focused on the financial control of the development and regular liaison with all key stakeholders. 

It is critical that the Finance Manager is a dynamic individual with the ability to drive financial performance within a fast moving, complex and changing environment. Given the nature of this role it is imperative that the individual thrives within a culture of continual recalibration.

The Individual

This role is aimed at a professionally qualified accountant with relevant post-qualifying experience. It requires a proactive individual with a track record of delivering large-scale operational projects. The Finance Manager will demonstrate good gravitas and advanced commercial and operational finance skills. They will also be an exceptional communicator and influencer. It is imperative the successful candidate is hands on with a keen eye for detail, coupled with the ability to communicate, influence and build strong relationships with business leaders.

 This is a hands-on finance role that requires a commercially minded individual with extensive stakeholder management skills, commitment and drive. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of financial information and undertakings to shareholders and lenders
  • Management and co-ordination of loan funding income and dispersal
  • Preparation of annual budgets, cash flow management and the production of monthly management accounts
  • Working in partnership with Winchburgh Developments Limited’s CEO by providing ad hoc financial information and reports as required
  • Ensure financial controls are adhered to
  • Preparation of the year-end statutory accounts preparation and audit oversight
  • Overseeing compliance of CIS monthly returns, quarterly VAT returns, Corporation tax management and HMRC filings
