Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a successful, Glasgow city centre based business to appoint a Finance Manager.  This is an exceptional opportunity for a recently qualified accountant.

The purpose of the role is to manage the effective performance of the finance team ensuring adherence to all relevant company/departmental procedures and policies. The Finance Manager will support the Financial Controller incorporating process and system development as required.

Duties include:

• Effectively manage the performance of each member of the finance team acting as a coach and mentor to develop their full potential.
• Ensure the finance team operates as a high performance team at all times.
• Ensure monthly team deadlines are achieved.
• Ensure accuracy of departmental outputs.
• Support Financial Controller in the production of monthly accounts preparation, analysis and ad hoc reporting.
• Preparation of month end journals.
• Submission of statutory returns.
• Completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation of cash and profit forecasts.
• Support the production of the year-end audit process and statutory accounts production.
• Develop the financial controls environment through new processes and system changes, co-ordinating with the Financial Controller to bring efficiencies and time savings to the finance team.

Skills required for this position are:

• Demonstrable and proven team leadership skills.
• Self –starter with proven ability to prioritise and deliver against deadlines.
• Excellent people skills.
• Excellent technical knowledge, (experience of using ERP systems is also desirable).
• Proven track record of continuous personal and professional development.
• CA/ACCA/CIMA Qualification
