Exciting opportunity to join a market leading, growing investment bank based in Glasgow city centre within their Regulatory Change/Regulatory Risk function. Due to relocation of the role from London to Glasgow, the bank is looking to appoint an EMEA Operations Regulatory Risk Manager to work with senior stakeholders across Operations to ensure regulatory change is adequately assessed and implemented in order to fulfil regulatory reporting requirements. This position reports directly to the EMEA Head of Operations Regulatory Oversight within a small team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive the Operations analysis of EMEA Regulatory Change events leading to identification of firm-wide impacting initiatives; driving interpretation and impact assessment of proposed regulatory change; ensuring the Operations has shared understanding of regulatory impact and compliance risk
  • Engaging with EMEA Legal and Compliance, EMEA Government Relations, Internal Audit and wider EMEA Divisions to support ongoing EMEA regulatory rule assessment and conformance
  • Working with senior stakeholders across the firm to assist in delivering Global Regulatory Projects; responsible for the definition of business requirements, testing approaches and execution for system implementation and process change for Operations Risk and Control projects and wider control issues, contributing towards delivery on multiple strategic and tactical projects
  • Supporting central analysis for all EMEA regulatory initiatives Production and delivery of key inputs e.g. Rule Interpretations to key governance committees, risk committees, analysis of regulatory impact on the business Management, analysis and appropriate escalation of relevant regulatory breaches, defining solutions, actions and tracking through to remediation
  • Modelling of Operations and Firm-Wide business process in order to gain a complete understanding of regulatory impact to current procedures, processes across Operations and the subsequent impacts firm-wide, identifying and documenting requirements to an industry standard
  • Perform feasibility analysis, projects scoping, and working alongside the project management teams to prioritise deliverables, and negotiate on product functionalities
  • Defining project requirements by identifying project milestones, outcomes, outputs, and phasing; assisting to establish project budgets and business plans

To be considered for this role you will have a background within regulatory change, regulatory risk, operational risk or internal audit, will have a strong appreciate for regulation and the ability to understand technical rule changes and communicate in layman’s terms to senior management. You will be naturally inquisitive, not be afraid to ask the right questions and analytical. Strong communication skills are essential, both verbal and written. This role will require the successful candidate to be adaptable and to enjoy working within a varied, fast-paced, changing environment. You will be a self-starter, entrepreneurial in spirit and will be given responsibility from day one. Experience working within investments is advantageous although not essential, you will need to have demonstrable experience working with regulation within a financial services setting.

Salary £40-55,000
