Description

Rutherford Cross is excited to be partner with a multinational blue chip company based on the outskirts of Glasgow to appoint a Transformation Project Accountant.  The role will involve regular communication with the Director of Finance and the Services Leadership Team to ensure the accounting for all aspects of the new leasing sales models is completed accurately and efficiently. This will also involve partnering with the business on strategic planning for the roll out of these models in various geographies across the globe.

Duties include:

  • Reporting to the Director of Finance based in Glasgow to support the  business to map out end to end processes for all leasing at a world-wide group level
  • Working with the accounting practice team to create and implement accounting policy and processes to respond proactively to support the strategic direction of the Business including the creation and maintenance of a “Blueprint” accounting entry document for each of the leasing structures
  • Partnering with internal financial services to agree processes with external funding partners
  • Provide input where requested by the Director of Finance to ensure deals are entered into with proper governance, controls, and approvals from impacted business units
  • Business partnering with internal tax teams in various geographies to understand any specific in country tax legislation that may add additional complexities and design a solution to ensure sales can continue to be pursued
  • Business partnering with Financial Controllers in each geography to improve accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting capability
  • Business partnering with sales architect to ensure potential accounting and finance complexities understood with each of the suggested sales structure before any go live date.
  • Liaising with IT design specialists to ensure system capability for all transactions and reduce the level of manual intervention required. Suggesting enhancements were necessary
  • Presenting financial results and opportunities to the business

Requirements for the position are:

  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload as part of a geographically dispersed team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Accounting qualification
  • Strong commercial accounting background
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Knowledge of tax would also be an advantage
  • Good accounting investigation and analytical skills
  • Good IT skills, knowledge of SAP system advantageous
