An exciting opportunity to join a high growth, global, technology company and can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a newly created position for an experienced Internal Controls Manager / Senior Manager to join the established finance team and will focus on developing SOX compliance and risk management across the business. The position is a dual role where 50% of your time will be spent in an advisory capacity and 50% will be delivery of work.

Initially, you will be joining to lead the project to ensure SOX compliance across the business. At present the Finance team has successfully completed the first phase stage of the project, this is a three-phase project which you will lead to ensure full compliance across the business.

Whilst there is a dotted line into Finance, this is a fluid role so would suit an experienced professional who is a self-starter and can work autonomously.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and co-ordinating the global SOX compliance requirements
  • Ownership of all elements of internal control
  • Resolving control deficiencies
  • Managing/developing an effective internal control framework
  • Developing the business’ approach to internal risk management across the organisation
  • Leading operational risk reviews, making recommendations to steer the senior leadership team

To be considered for the opportunity you will need:

  • CA/ACA/ACCA/IIA/CIA or equivalent
  • Significant experience of SOX compliance/internal audit/external audit
  • Experience in risk management and preferably experience applying a COSO framework
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to build rapport and establish credibility
  • Entrepreneurial but pragmatic in nature
